Kia India has expanded its Carens lineup by offering a new CNG variant for customers who want improved fuel economy and lower running costs. Instead of offering a factory-fitted option, Kia is offering a dealer-level CNG installation with the use of a government-approved Lovato kit, and the CNG variant will be strictly fitted at authorised dealerships.
The Carens CNG will use Kia’s already standard warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 km and extend this coverage to the same level as its regular petrol variants. The introductory price of the CNG variant is ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Premium (O) trim and ₹77,900 more than the corresponding petrol variant. The price increase is reasonable for the improved fuel economy.

Kia assures consumers that warranty and reliability is provided even if the CNG installation is performed at the dealership. The model uses a familiar 1.5-litre Smartstream four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 113 hp and 144 Nm of torque paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Continuing to be one of India’s most popular three-row MPVs for its versatility and practicality, the Carens offers a seven-seat layout that competes with higher variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The interior cabin provides an attractive dual-tone black- and-beige interior theme – complemented by indigo accents the dashboard and door pads along with the semi-leatherette upholstery.
The second-row seats offer a 60:40 split with slide, recline and tumble functions, while a one-touch electric tumble provides easy access to the third row. The last row comes with a 50:50 split and can be folded flat to expand luggage capacity. Other comfort-oriented features include rear door sunshades, AC vents for all three rows, and five USB Type-C charging ports.

Infotainment is handled by an eight-inch touchscreen system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along the Bluetooth connectivity, voice commands, and a 12.5-inch instrument cluster featuring a 4.2-inch colour MID. Additional convenience and safety features include steering-mounted controls, follow-me-home headlamps, keyless entry with a burglar alarm, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, vehicle stability management, and downhill brake control.
