Skoda Auto India has confirmed its first India-made electric car. The company will launch it between April 2027 and March 2028. Skoda displayed the Elroq electric SUV at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This shows the company’s interest in India’s growing electric vehicle market. The SUV will be manufactured locally to reduce the cost for the buyers. The local manufacturing will also help the Skoda improve after-sales and service. The price for this new car is expected to start from Rs. 50 lakh in India. The price may increase depending on the model and the battery pack. The Skoda Elroq electric SUV follows a modern solid design style. It has a clean body, sharp lines and premium-looking LED lights. The front has a closed grille with a stylish Tech Deck Face. The rear side of the car has C-shaped tail lamps and a smooth finish. The large alloy wheels and strong shoulder lines give it a bold look. The smallest pack may offer a driving range of around 375 kilometres. The mid-level pack could provide a range of 403 kilometres. The largest 77 kWh battery offers a range up to 581 kilometres. The power output will vary between the 170 PS and 286 PS versions. The higher battery provides faster acceleration and stronger overall motor performance. The top variant can reach 100 kilometres per hour in 6.6 seconds. Skoda Elroq promises both a good range and a smooth electric driving experience.
Charging, Motor And Driving Experience
Skoda Elroq will support both regular and fast charging systems easily. The DC fast charger can charge from 10% to 80% straight. Most probably it will take around twenty-five to thirty minutes for this. A normal AC home charging option will also be available for convenience. The base models will have rear wheel drive for a daily smooth driving experience. The top models may offer All Wheel Drive with dual electric motors. The electric torque helps in instant pickup and comfortable driving in traffic. Skoda will adjust the suspension and steering for Indian roads and comfort.
