VLF Mobster 135 Scooter Launched in India

Motohaus, the brand that introduced Brixton motorcycles in India, has launched a fashionable new scooter, the VLF Mobster 135. The introductory price is Rs. 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 2,500 customers. With this launch, VLF intends to compete against scooters like the TVS Ntorq 150, Hero Xoom 160, and Yamaha Aerox 155, catering to younger riders’ demands for style, performance, and modern features.Motor and Performance

The Mobster 135 is equipped with a single-cylinder 125cc liquid-cooled engine, generating 12.1bhp at 8,250rpm, along with a torque of 11.7Nm at 6,500rpm. It has an automatic CVT transmission, which also improves how easy it is to ride in the city. VLF says that it has a top speed of 100 km/h, which is impressive for a scooter.

What makes the Mobster 135 special is that it is India’s smallest liquid-cooled scooter, a technology commonly only seen with bigger scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160. VLF Mobster 135 has a sharp and aggressive appearance has been taken straight from Italjet scooters. The scooter is equipped with a set of 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Braking consist of a 230mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc platform, both supported with dual-channel ABS and traction control. These features are rarely included on scooters in this bracket.

The Mobster 135 features a 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth capability, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts and ride stats. It has keyless ignition, a USB charging port and optional accessories, such as a dashcam. There is plenty of underseat storage where you can fit a half-face helmet, which makes daily commuting practical.

The Mobster 135 will be sold for Rs. 1.30 lakh, which is higher than the TVS Ntorq 150 (starting at Rs. 1.09 lakh), but lower than some other higher-capacity scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155 (Rs. 1.38 lakh) and Hero Xoom 160 (Rs. 1.37 lakh). The Mobster 135 is slightly pricier than some of its rivals, but it has some distinct features such as liquid cooling, dual-channel ABS, traction control and a TFT display that makes it distinct from others in the market in the 125cc segment.

As of now, Motohaus has a network of 12 dealerships throughout India, with ongoing expansion plans. However, as a new brand in India, potential buyers should be aware of the limited sales and service network. Despite the smaller dealer network, the Mobster 135 combines style, technology, and performance to make it appealing to younger riders looking for a modern scooter with lots of features.
